Rights and responsibilities of the student

According to the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”:

Article 54. Rights of persons studying in higher educational institutions.

1. Persons studying in higher educational institutions have the right to:

choice of form of education;
safe and harmless conditions of study, work and life;
work outside of school hours;
additional paid leave in connection with training at the main place of work, reduced working hours and other benefits provided by law for persons who combine work with study;
use of educational, scientific, industrial, cultural, sports, household, health base of the higher educational institution;
participation in research, research and development works, conferences, symposia, exhibitions, competitions, presentation of their works for publications;
participation in the discussion and resolution of issues of improving the educational process, research, scholarships, organization of leisure, life, health;
providing proposals on the terms and amount of tuition fees;
participation in associations of citizens;
selection of academic disciplines in the specialty within the limits provided by the educational and professional training program and the working curriculum;
participation in the formation of an individual curriculum;
moral and (or) material encouragement for academic success and active participation in research work;
protection from all forms of exploitation, physical and mental violence;
free use of libraries, information funds, services of educational, scientific, medical and other departments of the higher educational institution in higher educational institutions;
vacation leave lasting at least eight calendar weeks.

2. Students of higher educational establishments who study full-time (full-time) have the right to preferential travel in transport, as well as to be provided with a dormitory in accordance with the procedures established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Students of higher educational institutions have the right to receive scholarships awarded by legal entities and individuals who sent them to study, as well as other scholarships in accordance with the law.

Article 55. Duties of persons studying in higher educational institutions.
Persons studying in higher educational institutions are obliged to:

comply with the laws, statutes and rules of procedure of the higher education institution;
comply with the schedule of the educational process and the requirements of the curriculum.
